While the benefits of Steiner’s research into agriculture and education are increasingly recognized, his research into the nature of bees has had limited impact on beekeeping practices and on our general understanding of nature. Wisdom of the Bees examines Steiner’s insights and research into the nature of bees and their implications for the future of beekeeping. Today, more than eighty years after Rudolf Steiner presented his lectures on bees, we are confronted with a serious decline of honeybees around the world. This fact alone justifies Wisdom of the Bees, a practical and timely introduction to biodynamic beekeeping. Erik Berrevoets revisits those seminal lectures and reexamines Steiner’s observations and insights in the context of today’s dire situation and provides practical advice for modern beekeeping practices. Wisdom of the Bees is an accessible and essential introduction to the urgent subject of holistic beekeeping practices.
Wisdom of the Bees Principles for Biodynamic Beekeeping Erik Berrevoets
This is a must read for anyone remotely interested in Rudolf Steiner's teachings. Erik Berrevots has masterfully interpreted and explained Steiner's teachings relating to bees and presented them in very easy to understand writing. The book is not really a how to for beekeeping, it is a how to "feel" about keeping bees.Product details

Wisdom of the Bees Principles for Biodynamic Beekeeping Erik Berrevoets Reviews
Written with the best of intentions, this is an utterly worthless book. The author sets out to summarize Ruldolf Steiner's insights on bees and the biodynamic approach to beekeeping. Unfortunately, the author has neither the talent not the experience for the task. Steiner's lectures, which are by no means straightforward, are described in a perfunctory, Cliff Notes-style, without any special insight or explication. You'd get more out of reading Steiner's book on bees itself. The summaries of the biodynamic approach to beekeeping are too superficial or vague to be of any practical value to a commercial or backyard beekeeper. The author sounds like a novice. A much better choice is David Heaf's "The Bee-friendly Beekeeper A Sustainable Approach." Although focused on the Warre hive, Heaf's approach in informed by biodynamics, and his book contains a wealth of practical advice and philosophical insight that is highly in keeping with Steiner's worldview.
